The Left Must Be Destroyed

The Left has been entirely captured by radical, violent, Marxist ideology. There may be some heritage Democrats still wed to the party of their grandfathers who simply are not paying attention, but the Left has been thoroughly co-opted, corrupted, and is now controlled by a dangerous, demonic ideology hell-bent on destroying American society, the family, children’s lives, and Christianity. Though impotent in itself—it will be quickly and easily destroyed in Europe by Islamic fundamentalists—Leftist ideology has made significant inroads in America through its capture of educational, media, and bureaucratic institutions since the 1960s. Its program to normalize perversion, promote medical malpractice and pharmaceutical harm, indoctrinate children into self-destructive radicalism, and deconstruct criminal justice is well-documented. Its explicit incitement, funding, and celebration of violence is now public and explicit. These are monsters, and they are no longer hiding in the shadows or lurking beneath the bed. They have come out into the open, and when a dragon appears, good men must arm themselves to go forth to destroy it.

Charlie Kirk was one such good man, one of the best of men engaged in the conflict. Leftists called for violence against him, and those calls were heard and carried out. Leftist pundits blamed the victim, implicitly justifying the crime. Leftists online celebrated his death and openly collected further names of conservative voices to be snuffed out. They did not kill Charlie in spite of the fact that he was a kind and charitable man. There were many voices louder, harsher, more strident, more inflammatory that they could have targeted. They killed him because he was kind, charitable, and effectively engaged in dialogue and debate. He was too effective. They had to kill him, it was the only way they could “win” against him, and by killing him, sinister actors knew they would be able to provoke the kind of violent backlash that would incite an open, bloody war. The Left’s slander against the Right would be fulfilled. You see, they are violent racists and fascists!

Evil has come into the open, and the righteous cannot ignore it. This is not the time to play nice. It is past time to take the fight to the Enemy, to assail the gates of Hell, confident in the Lord’s promise that those gates will not stand. But how do we fight, righteously, in a godly and God-glorifying manner? This is the question. Not whether, but how.

First, the magistrate is armed with the sword by God and divinely commissioned to execute vengeance on the evildoer (Rom. 13:1-7). The perpetrator(s) and anyone and everyone involved in funding, planning, enacting, or inciting and cheering Charlie’s Kirk’s assassination must be hunted down, prosecuted, and punished to the fullest extent that justice demands. That means executing those directly responsible and harshly, but appropriately, punishing anyone else who is peripherally involved. Posting lists of names of persons who ought to be targeted next is incitement to violence and should be prosecuted as a precursor to murder.

Second, the magistrate should similarly target, investigate, indict, prosecute, and punish any and all agents and organizations involved in promoting the destructive programs of Leftist ideology. This means going after the individuals and organizations that fund riots, ship pallets of bricks, incite crowds, hire protestors, subvert the offices of District Attorneys, and implement unjust measures from the judicial bench. It also means discipling, removing, and potentially prosecuting teachers and institutional leaders who subvert parental authority, promote transgender ideology, and facilitate abortions involving minors.

Third, the Church is armed with the Word of God, the sacraments, and prayer. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2Cor. 10:4-5). Christians are not called to physical violence but to the holy violence of worship, preaching, and prayer. The Psalms must be sung and prayed, all of them, especially those naughty but highly relevant imprecatory ones. The whole counsel of God must be preached, publicly and from house to house, in pulpits and in the public square. The work Charlie Kirk was doing to defend the unborn, oppose transgenderism, promote marriage, and point people to the ultimate meaning that can only be found in Jesus Christ should not have to be the work of political organizers. It is work specifically given to the Church by the Lord. Worship is primary. Life and strength for labor flows from the garden sanctuary out into the wilderness of the world. The Lord’s Day must be non-negotiable for Christian families, and daily prayer by families and individuals should follow close behind.

Fourth, godly men must recognize the times and prepare themselves to do battle righteously in the world we live in. That means getting fit and learning to be competent in situations where you may be required to protect or evacuate your family or come to the aid of a neighbor. It means being alert, watchful both unto prayer and for physical dangers. It means killing stupid, foolish, emasculating habits of pornography, drunkenness, doom scrolling, spending so much time on YouTube, and wasting your life and energy. It means giving yourself to Scripture, holiness, and service. You were made for more. Stop wasting God’s good gifts and blaspheming his grace.

The Left must be destroyed, and it will be. Jesus is Lord, and he wins in the end. But the road between here and there will be a long and hard one. The Family, Church, and State each have a role to play and weapons appropriate to their particular station and calling. Each one must take up their arms and do battle against the darkness. The Church prevails by worship, evangelism, and the sacrifice of its martyrs who bear witness both by word and blood. What the world needs is not merely better laws or more rigorous enforcement. It needs Jesus. It needs the heart change that only the Holy Spirit can provide. It needs truth. It needs forgiveness. It needs Christ. And he is available to all who turn to him in sincere faith and repentance. Even the murderer of Charlie Kirk, the madman who butchered Iryna Zarutska, the mass shooters who are plotting their crime even now, and the monsters on Twitter who celebrate and encourage them. Turn to Jesus, and he will welcome you. He will forgive you for who you are and what you’ve done. But you cannot remain as you are and be saved. You must repent. You must turn. You must bow the knee to him. If you do not, an eternity in Hell awaits you.

Let God arise! Let his enemies be scattered! Let those also who hate him flee before him (Ps. 68:1). They will. The Lord will exercise his sovereign vengeance. All those who hate God will be ruined, either by repentance or in retribution. Let the Church of God lift its voice and proclaim the Lordship of the true King to a lost and dying world.
